At AiP, our mission is to do our part in assisting in furthering possibilities by using EXPOSURE. Proper exposure and knowledge bring possibilities that enhance one's PERSPECTIVE.
Our vision is to assist in closing opportunity gaps across the country. Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive no matter what!
Darius, the Founder and President of AiP, hails from La Vergne, Tennessee, where he spent his formative years after relocating from Carthage in 2004. Raised by a single mother who sought a better, safer, and more diverse life for her sons, Darius faced challenges as he adjusted to his new environment. Despite encountering difficulties and making choices that led to disciplinary actions during his teenage years, a pivotal moment occurred during in-school suspension. It was there that he stumbled upon a life-changing autobiography, which shifted his perspective and empowered him to take control of his future. Today, Darius is not only an author and licensed financial professional, but he is also committed to mindset coaching, mentoring, motivational speaking, and dedicating his life to personal development and continual growth. Through his work, he inspires others to craft their own narratives, regardless of the circumstances they face.
Starr, the Founder and Vice President of AiP, was raised in the rural town of Camden, TN. Growing up, Starr immersed herself in various activities such as sports, including 4-H and softball, which provided a broader perspective beyond her immediate environment. She credits her mother for encouraging her participation in extracurricular activities despite working night shifts as a single parent. During her teenage years, Starr's mother became a foster parent, exposing Starr to diverse perspectives and the challenges faced by unaccompanied youth in the community.
Seeking a change of environment and a deeper purpose in life, Starr recognized the importance of experiencing life beyond her small town's limited views and opportunities. Upon graduating high school in 2011, Starr relocated to Middle Tennessee, where she pursued studies in Psychology and began working with youth aged 6 months to 17 years. Today, in addition to her work with AiP, Starr is a licensed financial professional, leveraging her expertise to uplift, support, and challenge others to expand their perspectives and realize their potential through coaching and mentoring.
